Let your light shine

When I first considered what the theme of my blog posts would be, I had two signs: One on the rim of my tea cup & another in the lyrics of a song I listened to that morning.

The phrase “Let your light shine” means so much to me. It’s all about being your best self, letting that inner light of God shine through you. It’s about living your best purpose-filled and God-driven life.

Here is what I have come to believe through educational, professional & personal experiences. These “Life Principles” have guided me in my personal, professional & leadership roles over over the past 18 years. Open your heart & let these in so you can “let your light shine” in this world:

1. You have inherent strengths. Sometimes they get lost, buried or forgotten.
2. Your ability to see your own goodness is key.
3. Hope is essential. Never stop seeking it & don’t ever let it slip away.
4. Every day, hour, minute & moment is a new opportunity for positive action & change.
5. Start each day with a positive mindset. 
6. Strive to put your best foot forward in every situation and at every crossroads & challenge.
7. Spend more time thinking about solutions than problems.
8. Believe in your abilities; don’t doubt yourself.
9. Strive to be grateful for something every day.
10. Live with integrity & good character. I have personally found that learning God’s word is the best roadmap available to living a life of integrity.
